Holy moly guacamole, I watched this film because I remember David Lynch mentioning it once, and I'm so glad I actually did instead of letting it rot in my watchlist. This was incredibly hypnotic the uninterrupted sequence of spinning disks, circles, and spirals completely captured my interest. I watched it fully thinking it was only two minutes long.
The way this movie presents dreams differs so far from the Lynchian style, almost closely resembling it too. I loved almost every minute of it. The inner kind of dialogue instead of natural speech is incredibly genius. This will take a while to fully understand, especially the ending, but all in all, this was spectacular and way ahead of its time. I feel like this movie should definitely be talked about a lot more probably one of the best early surrealist works I’ve ever seen. And Kubrick’s in it as an extra too, which is pretty cool.
