I think Nick is the one of the best Steve Buscemi characters, if not one of the best movie characters in general. This whole era is so somber, and so intriguing to me—this movie in all of its low budget glory feels like the most authentic portrayal I’ve seen thus far (but what do I know). There’s no bells and whistles, it just is what it is and you can tell it was made with love and grief and humor and some hopefulness, despite everything. All of that being said, I don’t think it’s a particularly good movie technically but I’m glad I watched it.
