the fundamental issue with this movie is that it literally provides us with nothing new for the lost part and does nothing with the information it tries to give us. the whole idea of this one is set around jason bourne’s dad being involved in treadstone and him getting killed for it but the only real revenge he gets is on that assassin.
plus the only character who carries over from the original films gets killed off early with absolutely no ramifications on the plot. they just introduce these new people in the cia which is fine but then give no reason why they’re connected to bourne other than had some sort of role in treadstone.
the fight sequences in this one were also much weaker and frankly less believable. in the first movies he was robotic and could take hits and give them out just as easily knowing the best spots to get people. but in this he’s just like any other above average asset and doesn’t really have any of his signature traits.
we end in the same place we started except with more people dead and how his dad died. this didn’t ruin the franchise or retcon any of the good moments from the originals but it definitely didn’t add anything of substance

Very very entertaining movie. Wish I have seen the others to get more of a background. Definitely adding them all to the list
