"Deacon, what's the bible for?""Inspiration."
This is a confusing movie for me. There are so many biblical references, and JCVD's character is even named Deacon, they keep talking about everything being in God's hands until he takes it into his own I'm just curious whether all of this was the sole idea of the star or always part of the creative process. I will commend the movie for a Room-esque bare cheeks thrusting scene hardly five minutes in and one of the most epic splits of its star's career, keeping a leg on a moving car and fighting off the guy in the passenger seat in a scene you have to see to believe. Or you could not see it if direct to DVD movies aren't your scene, your loss.
