An ok film. The plot felt very disjointed. There were so many different parts to the plot and they did not connect very well. But James Stewart acting did bail out the film as there were several really funny comical scenes. Richard Wirmark also had a solid performance. The only powerful scene in this movie was when Marty Purcell’s brother was being led to be hung as he was screaming for the box that was playing the childhood lullaby. There is something really powerful about how he had lost all memory of the American culture but the one thing that still hung on was a childhood lullaby. This had so emotional sad effect on me and I found myself really wishing he had been saved and lived life with his real movie. So a ok movie with a disjointed plot and was saved by Stewart’s acting.

Utrolig kombinasjon av Ford-romanse og Ford-pessimisme. Har noen fantastiske dialogscener mellom Stewart og Widmark(de første 20 minuttene her er noe av det flotteste, letteste jeg har sett). Blir litt vel mange baller i luften og litt mange temposkifter, men redder seg litt inn med slutten.

Apparently ford wasn't huge on this and it's definitely apparent cause it's a mess in many ways and almost lazy at points. It's very similar to searchers in themes and obviously not told quite as elegantly however it still works and the chemistry between the two leads is so good. The scenes with just the two are the best of the movie and all around great performances

"Two Rode Together" is the first film from legendary director John Ford that I have seen and I am very sure that it will not be the last. In the main roles are James Stewart and Richard Widmark who both play great and manage to portray their characters and their characteristics very well. The film is well staged and has great cinematography with some great and long takes and a nice score. The film also addresses and criticizes a number of important issues. All in all, I enjoyed the film, but I'm just assuming that I will like some of Ford's films even more.
