Someone sold their soul to make 90s CGI look good still in the Lords year 2025. I do love the CGI and animatronic work and how they use both to a great extent here. Of course I gotta start with the bad though. 1. The cliff the t-Rex pushed the car off of, where the hell did it come from, like it wasn’t there then it was, I don’t know? 2. The severed arm falling on the doctor always kind of irked me, it’s a bit random and almost silly. 3. That was a very quick and weak tropical storm.
Other than that this film is still pretty great. I honestly used to be super scared of this movie. I watched it for the first time when I was probably about 7 and I was so scared I threw up, the second time I watched it, I also threw up and just for a kicker, I also threw up when I watch Jurassic world in theatres, but that time I was just sick. For that reason I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with this flick, but from a movie aspect there’s not a whole lot wrong with it. It’s one of the best films for a reason. Will definitely watch again and hopefully not vomit.
