65/100 honestly the concept was so unique and cool but the execution was pretty weak, like that the director wasn't really able to catch the true soul of Poe's novels.

I was expecting some breakthrough animation but sadly got something that had no life to carry. I think relying on Poe’s depressive and sorrowful writing to evoke emotion with its weak and lifeless visuals was a poor excuse. The worlds just felt so dull and it was like they thought plain dim tones would do the job to express and compliment the writing but it doesn’t at all.

Really hit or miss but the narration and voice acting is great throughout.
I’d rank the segments from best to worst:
1. The Masque of the Red Death 2. The Tell-Tale Heart3. The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar4. The Pit and the Pendulum5. The Fall of the House of Usher
The intro and bits in between each story trying to tie everything together was weird and unnecessary though.

They managed to make Edgar Allan Poe boring. Every story is told in a monotone against the ugliest animation I have seen in a long time. It all looks like a micro budget indie motion comic.
