Hooptober XI #11
Made primarily or entirely in Texas
Wes Craven
If you're in the market for an Amish giallo starring Sharon Stone (in her debut performance!) and directed by Wes Craven then boy howdy do I have the movie for you.
Despite that intro, this was only ok. Far too long and took a while to really get going, but not entirely without charm. Ernest Borgnine was excellent, and Sharon Stone was clearly born to be a star. There's a cool bath shot that Craven will recreate in A Nightmare on Elm St, and the mystery of it all actually had me guessing.
This was also another of those movies that likes to throw something insane at you in the last 30 seconds, something that doesn't really match anything that came before it, but it was dumb and fun and it made me laugh.
