The first half of this is a really fun pseudo-screwball , with Clark Gable bring charming as ever and Myrna Loy being the wonderful heart and soul as always. Then the third act happens and it's suddenly an escape from the voodoo natives that is so icky and racist and boring, so that kinda dampens the whole thing.
