King Jack is a raw and honest story that unfortunately feels a bit bare. While the acting is great and the dialog usually feels pretty real, the story drags on the less interesting parts and rushes when I was hoping to linger a little longer. It is another coming of age story, but while it does feel cliche a lot and the dialog doesn't quite feel authentic when Jack talks to any female character, it never came off as generic or by the numbers. King Jack has the bones of a really good movie, but the story needs a bit more meat to be among the greats.
