I didn't know much about Amy or this doccumentary but lemme say it was a challenge to hold back my emotions in my film studies class, especially during the ending, and the grammy awards scene. The use of her lyrics was insanly smart throughout this, just very impressively edited in general. Am happy to keep studying this.

the fact that there’s so much video evidence of her wanting it all to stop or slow down or take a break or need help, says a lot about how much she must’ve said it off-camera as well. i thought this was really well paced and respectfully sensitive to her troubled career, while not shying away from placing blame on characters in her life who contributed to her downfall (the press, blake, her father, and unfortunately herself).
