❝I hate you more than I can bear. And I love you more than I can bear.❞

Another banger from Satoshi Kon, Millennium Actress cleverly blends Chiyoko's life with her films, creating a visually stunning narrative with emotional depth. I'll admit, I got a little confused around halfway because I wasn't sure if I was seeing her search for the man or the plot of one of her films, but it soon became clear, and I loved the montage of her journey throughout her career. I was also a bit wary of rooting for her finding the man because they met when she was a kid, and they only interacted for a few hours, so I was glad when Chiyoko revealed that she loved the chase more than him. The voice-acting was excellent, and the animation, as expected from a Satoshi Kon film, was gorgeously done. So, all in all, while Millennium Actress isn't my favourite film of Kon's, it's still pretty great, and I'll be rewatching it so that I can understand it a bit better.
