I enjoyed Intruders to a certain point. It’s not an amazing movie, but I wouldn’t say it’s bad either. I’d probably give it around 2.5/5.
While watching, I was mostly curious about what tricks the main character was going to pull next. The movie kept me interested in that sense. I also didn’t know what Agoraphobia was before this, so I liked how the whole story was built around that condition. At the same time, the movie adds another plot on top of it, which made things a bit crazy and unexpected.
I actually liked how the main character was portrayed. She felt weak and vulnerable instead of being some unstoppable mastermind who can outsmart everyone. That made things more realistic to me. I know some people might get annoyed at her decisions, like when she tries to fight the armed intruder in a very clumsy way, but honestly I found that kind of funny. It felt like someone panicking rather than acting like a perfect action hero. Also, I couldn’t help but laugh at how characters kept randomly moaning during some scenes.
The main thing I didn’t like was the ending. It felt pretty stupid to me and could have been done much better. Don just walking out like nothing happened, and then suddenly she overcomes her fear out of nowhere… it didn’t feel convincing at all.
Overall, I might recommend it, but with low expectations. It’s not the best movie out there, but it’s still an interesting watch. I can definitely understand why some people wouldn’t like it tho
