Not great, this movie is so unserious to the point of making it annoying, like everyone and everything is a joke and it got old quick. There’s also quite a few useless legacy and new characters that don’t have a real role to play in the movie like the weird dude who was in the first three and the random girl who literally did nothing for the entire story. Ok, rant time about the girl. Why was she even there, she contributed nothing, her only heroic thing was to tell her blue battle bot friend to blow up that anti-air mount. All she do the entire movie was bitch, gripe and get in the way. She’s somehow a master at transformers for no reason at all, just because I guess yet they don’t even use her as a transformer mechanic. She complains she has no one left after the moving rubble transformer gets murked yet that blue bot exists. She’s a terrible and useless character that wasn’t needed in any capacity to progress the story. If she didn’t exist she outcome would’ve been the same. Other useless characters are as followed, the Dino-bots, the random black dude, the green and red transformer, the three headed dragon transformer, the tank transformer, the French transformer, the TRF leader, for the most part and last but not least Nitro-Zeus ( no actual reason on him, just thought the name is cool)
There’s so many characters that they all felt so muddled together and I literally couldn’t care less about them even if they died, like 90% of them I didn’t even know there name. Other bad aspect of this movie is Prime was going ham on the bumblebee but the thing that pulled him out of his trance was Bees voice, now that’s just lazy writing. I also will admit, Primes one liners that usually pack a huge punch fell super flat this time around, I felt like they were bland and quite overused in this movie, the speech at the end still slapped though. I could go on for a while longer but I won’t. The only reason that this isn’t in the bad category is because of the final battle sequence, it’s straight eye candy. Everyone loves a good ol’ CGI mega-battle, Al’s the butler was a fun character. Screw it, I’ll probably watch it again but I won’t enjoy it.
