Genuinely surprised by Bobby Darin’s performance as a vicious nazi supporter after having seen him mostly in comedies beside then wife Sandra Dee like Come September or If a Man Answers, where he usually plays her boring love interest. His power dynamics with Sidney Poitier are exciting to witness but Poitier as always is the undisputed star of the show.
From a technical standpoint Pressure Point is also marvellous. Director Hubert Cornfield and Stanley Kramer are never afraid to tell things harshly and they get out of the ordinary to show it. Frederic Knudston did a great job with the editing but cinematographer Ernest Haller takes the film to another level.
