Que raro debe ser perder por completo la forma en la que se ve y se vive el mundo. Que rara la subjetividad con la que se percibe la vida

Uno de los mejores profesores que tuve en arquitectura no podía ver colores, y pienso mucho en el tipo de sensibilidad que desarrolló y con la que se acercaba a la creación de espacios. Cómo se sentirá el habitar un lugar sin poder vivir los colores? Qué tan diferente es la arquitectura cuando combinar valores en CMYK se vuelve secundario? Mi profesor perdería la sensibilidad si viera colores?

At its core, this short film is about how reality isn’t some fixed, objective thing we all share equally, but something a lot more personal—shaped by what we can and can’t perceive. This film toys with the terrifying idea that “seeing more” doesn’t always mean understanding more, and that changing the way you perceive the world might actually erase a part of who you really are. That fear of upgrade-as-loss hits harder than expected, especially in a medium obsessed with clarity, color, and definition.
And not to mention, this short film has one of my favorite quote to ever exist, to ever been written & spoken in any film, EVER.

I love it because it encapsulates a profound philosophical doubt in a subtle yet profound question. Pertanyaan tdi secara implisit menantang gagasan modern tentang progress dan improvement yang sering kali diasumsikan sebagai sesuatu yang objektif dan universal. Kalimat ini mengajak kita untuk mempertanyakan standar “better” itu sendiri—better menurut siapa, dan berdasarkan sudut pandang siapa? Dalam konteks ini, realita tidak lagi dipahami sebagai sesuatu yang harus dikoreksi, melainkan sebagai pengalaman subjektif yang memiliki nilai intrinsik.

A Sion Sono short film. The colors are very pretty, and the photography is generally attractive. It's pretty funny how this guy just tries to convince him that he'll regret getting surgery to correct his color blindness. But it sort of seems like he's been pressured into getting the corrective surgery by family.
He worries that things will have been better before the surgery, which his sister wants him to get because she imagines his world is ugly without color. But the vision of color which the film offers is surreally gaudy, ugly because of how it bursts and overwhelms, to the point of violence.
It's alright.
"More beautiful than you can imagine..."

Großartiger 20-Minuten Kurzfilm, der ein für mich super interessantes Thema, wie ein Gedankenexperiment anhandelt. Coole Kameraführung, coole Schnittweise und coole Musik - wohl mein favourite Kurzfilm.
