I almost turned this movie off after the second rape scene, and I probably should have.

I know it’s a movie about rape, I know that’s what I signed up for when I hit ‚play’, but there are ways to convey it happening without showing it -or attempts of it, or animated recreations of it- 
 the part with her finding out who the rapist is could have been done without having another rape scene… like idk have her attack him first? 

Just the fact that it’s directed by a man.

Interesting fantasy sort of movie, kinda wild and bold of them to come out with it at the peak of me too. Cant tell if it’s trying to be provocative or thoughtful, either way it’s quite interesting. Really interesting exploration of the current intersectionality of relationships and media. Also, very interesting how annoyed it made me because she seemed to not care about being assaulted, but really prompted me to look at how I’ve grown with society to expect certain things from victims, when they’re the ones that shouldn’t have any expectations put on them. Only Isabelle Huppert could pull this off, queen.
