I never thought i’d ever find a movie where Billy Cruddup gets high on pharmaceutical speed and buys him and his lush mother-in-law matching wolf sweatshirts blasé, but here we are.
It isn’t the fault of the actors, mind you-
Frank Langella is doing his part as the cranky & ready to die father. It is just flat writing and run-of-the-mill cinematography.
I seem to recall Last Cab to Darwin being an effective piece about euthanasia, but I will say I did enjoy that Youth in Oregon did (eventually) show the concept in a variety of lights without condemning it/laying on the guilt trip.
