This film is fucking disgusting, but purposefully made to shock and be transgressive. A combination of three prolific Asian horror directors culminating into one film, gives it a prolific prowess, yet it fell short for the most part.
The first film is fucking nasty and understanding its central theme of the preservation of youth and beauty at any cost is central for one not to just end the movie immediately.
The second film is definitely the best of the three. Directed by Park Chan Wook, whose most notable work is Old Boy (10/10 would recommend if you want to stay up at night), gives us an unhinged look at fame and it’s extreme lows for those who have it.
The third film is directed by Takashi Miike, my favorite director, yet this one falls short. A slow, and poor representation of Miike’s work, his portion of the film focused on jealousy and its consequences really wasn’t effective at all.
Overall, I would just watch it as a representation of all three of the directors works but individually each director is much more effective
