**"Maybe we can take death to go to a star and to die peacefully of old age would be to go there on foot."
LITERALLY a masterpiece (composed of 65k oil paintings). I've loved Van Gogh ever since I was little so this movie was practically for me. I love how Armand went from not giving a shit about Vincent and even percieving him as "weak" or a "freak" to being so invested in his death. I love that in his obsession to learn about his death, he just ends up learning more about his life, **and how Vincent saw so much beauty in it that no one else can. I love how everyone, fond of, close to, or despises Vincent, was an unreliable narrator, and the only information we can really trust is from Vincent himself. Through his paintings and letters, we see how Vincent saw the life and world that tormented him with utter fascination and beauty, we saw how he wanted to reach the stars, and to be honest? Thats all that everyone needs to know about Vincent Van Gogh.
