Absolutely INSANE how hard this movie committed to being fucking ridiculous and you know what? We got a fucking Titan Henshin sequence out of it and some straight up bonkers stylish action.
The choices made here funnily enough kind of echo what the manga did eventually do as well, albeit in much different contexts. Funny nonetheless. Part of me is sad that we didn't just get half a dozen of these films in the last decade, each one building more and more on the insanity and escalating the levels of action.
But overall it was a fun marathon! THese movies aren't perfect but they sure are fun as fuck and super silly. I would highly recommend this to anyone whose into Toku/Kaiju Action films and is willing to toss aside their preconceived notions about Attack on Titan.
Obligatiory Sidenote, End of the World by Skeeter Davis playing on a jukebox during the most batshit crazy twist reveal, was so fucking funny and reminded me so much of a similar reveal in Fallout 4 that I had to rewind to watch it twice lmao.
