An intriguing film that was cleverly constructed so that it was never boring. Jake Gyllenhaal did an excellent job as Edward/Tony, and Michael Shannon knocked it out of the park. Aaron Taylor-Johnson did amazing, so much so that I couldnt even look at Ray at times while watching because I was filled with unshakeable hatred and rage.
The cinematography was beautiful, with some gorgeous shots of the desert landscape that contrasted with the sleek aesthetic of Susan's world. I loved the background score; it was subtle but still very poignant and complimented the transitions between the story and reality really well. The ending was ambiguous which I vastly preferred over Susan and Edward meeting again after seeing how their relationship ended.
On the whole this was a great watch that I would recommend.
