I envy the trees and flowers. They're not sentient on a human scale, they just exist. They're innocently beautiful, they can heal wounds, they can smell great, they can feed animals, they can help other plants. I like to think about flowers all around the world and imagine what they see. All the sunsets, all the birds migrating, all the life that just happens around them. To lose petals and grow back new ones; and to have strong roots. The world just carries on and to be able to experience that must be so nice. The closest I can get to this is sitting on my porch and reading when I'm 70, with my forever partner, and a humble cat, and a grandchild who comes and visits every afternoon for a biscuit.
