The Golden Circle is certainly not as good as The Secret Service, but it's still pretty good. I think the main downgrades are in the story writing and dialogues, because the comedic moments didn't always land and there were a couple of plot holes. Some of the new characters felt unnecessary while other important ones got taken out (I'm never forgiving the person who came up with the Merlin-mines scene). I will say, though, that the acting all-around was great, especially from Julianne Moore and Taron Egerton, and Elton John was an awesome addition. So, all in all, this film is a decent entry; let's hope The King's Man also stands up to the test.
