reallllyyyyy suffers from what i realize now are the usual lows of a gareth evans movie. entire first half just drags on way too fucking long (crazy bc the indonesian release is even longer ? ) yet somehow goes without any real character insights or development ???? i could make a much snappier and more emotional cut of the movie tbh and i truly believe it. im a pinch away from doing it genuinely i am that neurotic and self absorbed. im like will ferrell in the other guys (cut 3 minutes out of goodfellas). my second biggest problem with the movie is mr evans obviously cannot write a woman character to save his life. embarrassing! tbh every character in this is almost cartoonishly one note but loving devoted mother and young victim girl …. COME ONNNN. and there is lowkey never any justification for a rape scene in a movie; luckily this one is aftermath only but the way it then has literally no relevance to any plot or character development …. bitch why put it in then !!!!!! and blah i could go on. anyway despite all that it is still a deeply enjoyable watch, i was HURT and SADDENED by the ending (yes it was kinda contrived idgaf), and i love fight choreo what can i sayyyy !!!! at the end of the day whatever young iko uwais 😍😍😍
