The pacing was very slow, and the characters interpersonal relationships and backgrounds lacked a great deal of depth. It had an interesting premise that I think it would have made a far more compelling short film as opposed to a feature film.
Due to the run time, it was full of empty repetitive shots that seemed to lack any purpose or meaning. It was so slow to the point I found myself very bored (I had to 1.25x it which isn’t a good sign!) and it had an overall flatness to it, from the characters to the setting and dull cinematography.
The acting was acceptable but not completely convincing and rather wooden at times unfortunately. I also found that the insomnia sequences were repetitive and overly cliché, to the point that it was tiresome to watch.
As I said, a shorter run time would work in the films favour as it had little to no thematic tone and this combined with a lack of an overall plot and character development made for a dry unenjoyable film, that I should have stopped watching by the first act.
