i do hate men but i do like this film

‘ i’m yours till i die ‘ -kiss me kate

i have never been more bored… due to the time period, i can get past the sexism; times were different, however, the film is unbelievably long for such a predictable ending. i wasn’t captivated by anything beyond millers’ astonishing tap number… and she isn’t even the main character. 

the costumes were phenomenal and i adored the original score, everything just felt poorly executed. i don’t see why this was necessary if the musical was already good, i thoroughly enjoyed that. 

waste of time, unfortunately.

I watched this under the assumption that this was one of the great 50's musicals like Singin' In The Rain until halfway through when to end a Shakespearian framed-story-modernized-musical number 3 dancers do a charleston so deep with deadeyed smiles right at the camera I became incredibly unnerved and was unable to connect with the rest of the movie. Disturbing to the bones.
