“it’s in your eyes, brother. it's in your soul.”
wow. this movie not only absolutely sucked but it also agitated me. i started watching this last night and i was fully considering not finishing it, but decided to see it through.
what do you mean the main character ditches his girlfriend after she attempts suicide and proceeds to just fuck around and do random shit, including sleeping with an underage girl? and i’m meant to like him? girl, i nearly fucking clapped when he got arrested. i get that he was scared or whatever he says, but come on. and she forgives him way too fast; girl, you deserve better.
i only watched this for Keanu and i think he did a pretty good job, especially with the scene of him and Neal in the bathroom. i didn’t really like Harry as a character though. actually, the only character that i recall even slightly liking was Ben. Adrien Brody was very good in his 5 seconds of screen screen time. this one star is for my boys and nothing else.

The one star is for gay Adrien Brody as an Allen Ginsberg stand in who was my favorite part of the movie.
Genuinely makes me sad how such an interesting person’s life inspired such a dull and lifeless movie. There’s so many interesting and crazy Neal Cassady and Beat writer stories they could have told instead of this one…and it just makes me sad
