❝To face what we are in the end, we stand before the light and our true nature is revealed. Self-revelation is annihilation of self.❞

I understand what the film is relaying and the concept behind it, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I did like the allegory of drug addiction and how vampirism was used to portray it; the vampires were, at once, starkly human as well as animalistic. Lili Taylor did an excellent job as Kathleen, and there was some great camerawork, but all in all The Addiction felt a little bit pretentious and I didn't enjoy it very much.
