The Young One
“There are always excuses, always extenuating circumstances, And I'm tired of them. He's sick, he's poor, his parents beat upon him, or they didn't.Excuses for the roughest crimes, I no longer accept them.I believe in sin and expiation, There should be guilt and expiation or sin will be readily committed again”

It made me sad to realize that even back in the 60s, people were already tired of hearing excuses for those who commit horrible crimes, And all these years later, we’re literally still doing the same thing

Society is always protecting bad people by finding reasons to explain their actions, it’s like we’re always trying to understand the criminal and why he did that instead of helping the victim and give them justice
