❝Send word to the kingdom, grandfather! Tell everyone, young or old, that I have called them! Grab whatever weapons you can find! Tell them that Queen Mother Sivagami's grandson and Amarendra Baahubali's descendant has returned to free this cursed kingdom!❞
❝As long as you are with me, the one who can kill me hasn't been born yet, Uncle.❞

Even though both movies were filmed at the same time, Bahubali 2 feels a lot more polished and resplendent. It still has gorgeous costumes and sets, and the cast continue being brilliant, but the script is refined and does characterisation a lot better. The songs and general music are also a lot better, though I know that isn't an opinion shared by a lot of people. I'd say that this film is more rewatchable than the first, but both of them are great pieces of Rajamouli's filmography.

to the distant eye, this is terribly cringe but i remember studying julius and brutus in 7th grade and all i did the WHOLE time was draw parallels with katappa and how he kills bahu

happily surprised because it was SO much better than the first one. I had the time of my live, and I don't care if this is technically a prequel (2h of flashback lol) but I really enjoyed the plot! even the cgi seemed better, and God bless WOMEN. every single woman here is a badass and I'm so HERE for it. bahubali and devsena have my heart, FINALLY a good romance, I will always love the "I'm yours" leads rather than the "you're mine" ones.
and especially...
fav scene ever

you did wrong devsena. if one lays a hand on any woman, you should not chop his fingers. you should chop his head! [does so]
