Way too long, and just not my cup of tea. The score also bothered me.

How could there POSSIBLY be a four hour cut of this? Y’all are trolling with that estimate right?

One of the most excessively extravagant, self-aggrandizing and masturbatory works by an auteur in film history, AND. IT. IS. FASCINATING. I say that a bit cheekily because there is a level of self-awareness apparent here, but this film is absolute von Stroheim, von Stroheim, von Stroheim all along the way!
Shout-out to Flicker Alley for releasing this wonderful restoration on Blu-Ray from MoMA and SFSFF, btw.
