first margaret qualley movie of the year! (what a let down) while i enjoy the structure of the non-linear narrative and the haunting hallucinations of people from sidney's past, this movie is so misogynistic, embedded in every detail, dialogue and casual conversation. from elle fanning's character that serves as nothing but the narrative catalyst to margaret qualley's alexandra- these women have no agency apart from shaping sidney's tragedy. don't even get me started with the mother being obnoxious for no reason!!
2-and-a-half-star for plot, extra 1/2 for margaret, you know the rules.
