So here's what I gotta say: this movie's fuckin awesome I recommend it. I rarely watch war movies about sailors cause I'm used to more standard epic tank/artillery/air battles
Sadly I underestimated ships and submarines. I admit it. But it's brilliant. The plot's sharp as fucking chili pepper, keeps you on edge, you're sittin there yelling waving your arms or just frozen holding your breath the whole damn movie
Action, shootouts, tension - YES YES YES THIS IS IT. War action in all its underwater and above water glory. Even some war philosophy thrown in
And they pulled off the almost impossible: took down a whole destroyer with one barely working shitty torpedo. A DESTROYER, KARL. With their German sub looking more like a leaky piece of garbage or a colander. They definitely hit the fuel compartment or something, set off a chain reaction, cause there's no other way a destroyer lights up like a fuckin Christmas tree that no fire extinguisher can save
The captain's a handsome badass, good for him for listening to what his superiors told him and ACTUALLY TAKING IT TO HEART, executed his duties brilliantly, good job buddy
Want sharp emotions, tension, action, unexpected plot? Watch it, you won't regret it. Don't underestimate this masterpiece like I did before watching
