i've read about all this in the horrible histories horatio nelson book ! the scurvy, the flogging, cattle on board, the examination for lieutenant..

all of this movie felt like all context and no plot, except maybe for the last 10 minutes, which honestly didn't give me closure with the title. Like, now what ? Did he succeed or...
