In the mid-1960s, a group of high school friends who live on the Near North Side of Chicago enjoy life to the fullest...parties, hanging out, meeting new friends. Then life changes for two of the guys when they are falsely arrested in connection with stealing a Cadillac. We follow their lives through to the dramatic end of high school.

I don’t know how more people haven’t seen this masterpiece.
I think this was the first hometown movie I ever watched.
“I thought we’d get to see forever, but forever’s gone away. **It’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.” 🥲 ** Such a hidden gem, it’s rlly black ridgemont high😭

a charming and emotional coming-of-age story backed by an amazing soundtrack. I enjoyed this mostly for the setting and seeing a snapshot into the lives of black adolescents in the 60’s. I can absolutely see why this is a classic and such a staple in black households like mine. I’m glad I finally got to see my mom’s favorite movie!
