I’m guessing Christopher Lee starred in this just to have an excuse to be a posh MI5 toff with a bowler hat, moustache and an umbrella to wave about 😆😆
The underground segments were pretty good, I liked the dingy atmosphere and grossness of the people down there 😂
Donald Pleasence was very funny as the police officer 😹 Did enjoy the bit where he gets drunk at the pub
Wasn’t keen on the pacing which felt a little slow at points, and the audio mixing was very dodgy which led me to turning the volume up and down st several points. Maybe that’s just an issue with my dvd copy but it did get on my nerves. I hate when I can’t hear the dialogue so I turn the volume up then a scare blasts my eardrums 🤣

i spent some of this film’s runtime too busy wondering wtf was going on to fully comprehend wtf was going on and that might have been for the best honestly i think i enjoyed it most that way

Having found myself on the London underground late at night more than a few times myself, this felt like perhaps the most realistic British horror imaginable because the pissed up British public are almost exactly like this.
In fact they're arguably worse than any of these creatures who might be lurking about and more commonly encountered, so at least I know I'd definitely survive being in the same scenario.

1972 | Donal Pleasence | Christopher Lee | Cannibals

The premise of people disappearing in the London tube tunnels sounds extremely promising. There is so much you can do with that and so many possibilities to who or what makes them disappear. And the part with the police investigation as well as the couple that kinda stumbles into all of that could make for a great horror thriller. After reading the premise, I instantly wanted to watch the film.

Unfortunately, the way the film executed all of that didn’t work for me. The police investigation is pretty lame and boring, the couple too and the reason they disappear is just fine. They decided on cannibals, well, one cannibal. That’s not the worst choice, but not the best either.

The cannibal design is pretty cool and the make-up and the effects look very good and some of the shock moments work alright. The performances are fine too, I guess. But I was pretty bored and the film couldn’t hold my attention. The long one take in the tunnels for example, while well made and executed, didn’t do anything for me except boring me. I didn’t get into the story or found any connection to the characters.

“Death Line”, also known as “Raw Meat” was pretty disappointing. It didn’t do much for me and I was very bored the whole time. It’s not a bad film, it just didn’t work for me.
