I was pretty let down by the movies I watched lately, but this one was a total comeback and I loved every minute of it. Definitely one of Ray's most underappreciated films.

Absolutely adore. expertly explores the dynamics between the characters, between arrogant men and women amused at their arrogance, between the visible and invisible classes and their treatment, between the privileged view of “freedom” and barbarism and civilization. Beautifully shot, dialogue is so funny, shekhar and aparna carried, score is gorg. I will definitely be watching more of this master’s work….

On a complete whim I decided to go see the plaza Theaters showing which had a fun little message from Wes Anderson to introduce the film and wow am I glad I went! Such a beautiful movie and to my surprise quite a good laugh too. It really speaks w/o relying on any overly dramatic high steaks to keep you engaged. I can see this becoming a big comfort watch for me :)
