They used that stock footage for all it was worth. This isn't as interesting to talk about as Glen or Glenda, but Ed Wood did manage to deliver one of the funniest endings in movie history.
Interestingly enough, the production did improve between the two Ed Wood movies I watched today. While Glen or Glenda had more conventional settings, this movie is steeped in the spooky/goofy locations of the mysterious house and woods that give it so much charm. You can't really take Ed Wood movies seriously, but you can have fun watching them.
Bela Lugosi was fun in this, and Tor Johnson was genuinely not bad as Lobo. Funnily, this was a big improvement despite it not being entirely great (shocker).
The effects, stock footage, and editing are all very funny and add to the schlocky appeal of this movie. If you want to watch something that's dumb fun, turn this on.
Now, why is Ed Wood considered the worst director?

i think i expected campier? less “so-bad-it’s-good” moments for me to laugh at than i expected, but still pretty fun ngl. so many of these guys were just causing straight noise pollution whenever they weren’t talking as flat as stanley i giggled!! bela lugosi is having a blast, honestly. we were robbed of seeing that queen as the franken-bride but the final 15 minutes of this is genuinely cinema baybee

Home? I have no home. Hunted, despised, living like an animal! The jungle is my home. "

Just like Bride of Frankenstein, there isn't enough of the bride of the monster. I wish we spent more time with the mad scientist rather than the police officers.
