“Something happens, sometimes.”
the new sincerity. the idea of something. angels with stitched wings. art and true emotion stripped to the barest form it could possibly be in. culture and language deconstructed to the point where they mean nothing yet contain the scope of everything. truly fascinated at how obviously artificial and “postmodern” it all is; yet how profoundly heartfelt it manages to convey it’s ideas. even though each setting is painted, each line is monotone, robotic, dry, it somehow manages to transcend this form by creating a sincerity only achieved by it’s destruction; it’s a paradox. it does this by using abstractions to confront the many clichés its multiple mediums is created from. it explores the history of humanity and love and juxtaposes it with a modern yet timeless narrative. it does and says so much with so little. genuinely brilliant; can’t say i’ve really ever seen something like this before? each formal decision it makes is so bafflingly impressive in the most non traditional way possible. so much passion in something that would traditionally be known for being devoid of any. all of it resonates with me in ways i’m not really sure i can get into because all the thoughts it brings out of me are sort of vague and abstract. really incredible stuff; so much profundity packed in each line for something that seems so simple
