Die Another Day is a disappointing, mind-numbing, unnatural mess that is a sad end to Pierce Brosnan’s run as 007. Not once is the true identity of the previous films showcased, and all the wackiness goes haywire in this entry, with not a single coherent story beat and villains that the Power Rangers are likely to fight. The previous installments were fun spy flicks that felt grounded just the right amount, but unfortunately Die Another Day feels like a grown-up version of Spy Kids, with the same CGI that looks like a video game tie-in.
Pierce Brosnan barely feels like Bond in this, all his development in the 3 films before went down the drain. It’s like when Mortal Kombat 11 made all the protagonists old which makes their personalities super different from their first appearance but this film does it in an uncool and bad way. And it ends the exact same way the other films do, having sex, and there’s no satisfying conclusion between any of the characters we’ve grown to love over the 4 films.
Halle Berry is fine as Jinx, better sidekick than Christmas, but I was okay without her. Her best scenes were when she was first introduced. Frost is the most boring love interest Bond has ever had, literally a slop character only needed to have Halle Berry fight someone at the end. And the opening scene sucks in comparison to all other Brosnan openings.
Live, laugh, love…the invisible car. The film is so bad I can only compliment the car. MY BOY SAID HE IN THE ASTON DOING DONUUUUUUTS!
