Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl

Plot is nothing to write home about it’s a standard late 90s violent crime thriller á la Tarantino.

However the setups are great with a lot of very interesting wide shots and editing.  The characters are all very fun and “quirky”, we spend a lot of the movie with them just talking about nothing. Costume design is a big highlight.

Man Japanese cinema has always aced developing unique characters. I loved this movie so much. It was so fun and entertaining to watch. Just the atmosphere alone was so amazing. Reminded me of Takashi Miike films.

its very charismatic, but i do think toshiko feels very underutilized even though shes the lead. i also think that toshiko and samehada couldve used more on-screen time together to make the finale a little bit more convincing... i wont let it detract too much though because i did have a very fun time watching it, i just wish it took the time to develop them more. the gunplay, fashion, and direction were all top notch though so i do think i can say that i came out satisfied with something at least
