My older brother made me watch this in exchange form him watching rocky 4 and transformers 1 with me. But Idek if it was worth it this was just boring and made my eyes want to close it was soul sucking and a humdrum. My brother told me I didn’t like it because I didn’t listen to what they said but they were just genuinely saying a whole lot of nothing everyone was just hooting and hollering he’s gonna give it 5 stars and say it has some filosofical meaning🫩 larp larp larp

I'm not gonna pretend that I understood this. In fact, I didn't understand a lot of it. It's an abstract film after all, and a very personal one to Cocteau. But it's the kind of abstract, open-to-interpretation film that I wish I could understand more.

A side note: I was very lost among the dialogues because I just noticed French and English have so many cognates in common😭

Definitely my favourite of the trilogy. Cocteau literally interrogating himself and his own poetry. Kind of vain but not afraid to mock himself. In a way also kind of announcing his own death and making peace with it, like a suicide note by someone who didn't kill themselves
