i have a couple one liners for this movie
1. am i just not a big enough film bro to understand this movie bc it freaked me the fuck out until like the last 20 minutes
2. whoever made this has a foot fetish
3. david looks rly good when he's not being rly unsettling
it's honestly just la without a map but WAY worse

i mean, don't know what to say, i both liked it a lot and didn't like it at all. ronald laing, or ronnie with the bond I have now established through the film, was already a person who influenced me a lot with his ideas and i thought i had to dive into his life from somewhere. because i am a strong antipsychiatry advocate like him. while i was standing lazily like that, found this film while browsing tennant's works thanks to my new obsession of wanting to watch all david tennant films these days.
OMG A FILM ABOUT LAING AND DAVID TENNANT PLAYS LAING? How did i not discover this until now?
i started the film thanks to all this hype, but think my brain is very used to the structure of classic biography films, so i had a very difficult time adapting at first. because it has a very disjointed narrative and never proceeds in a linear line. laing did this and that is not the purpose of the film. it is as if the audience wants to dive into this man in every sense. and fuck all the rules of cinema and the limits of narrative, I LOVED IT. it may seem very dull, but the realism of those characters, the realism of those fights and reconciliations - or fudges - being conveyed so naturally... i think i would have liked it even if it was just more coherent. all these disconnections are very nice in feeling, but they didn't have the same effect on me in thought.
p.s: and as if david tennant wasn't already attractive enough, the way he is extra attractive with these clothes and hair. and i want to be at their lsd parties and all that clothes and vibe.
