I usually try to avoid films with over-confident male protagonists and awful representation of women but I’m ashamed to say this was thoroughly entertaining and the only thing that’s stopping me from rating it higher is my dignity. This film says there’s nothing that can fix your marriage quite like a traumatic hostage situation, and also that a woman just needs to take her glasses off to unlock her full potential of becoming a spy who can tango… I guess? The amount of times I said “what is happening” in a tone of utter disbelief tells you just how laughably ridiculous this film was but I guess it proves you can make the plot whatever you want if you cast Arnold Schwarzenegger in it. Also each time that little rat dog came on screen I was in hysterical fits of laughter for about 5 minutes.

Outside of the Terminator films Arnie has always worked best at his most ridiculous and in this film he chases a man on a motorcycle whilst riding a horse through a fancy hotel and then when you thought it couldn't get any dumber he gets in an elevator with the horse and then proceeds to tell the horse how shit it is when it can't jump to the swimming pool on the next rooftop after the motorcycle man... the best part is that this film is actually about his wife having an affair.

Safe to say it's one of his (as well as Jamie Lee Curtis') best. It's so stupid I can't help but kind of love it.

True Lies: 3 stars: Maybe Arnold Schwarzenegger's best film, he really does shine in comedic action films. I gotta say this most good looking he has ever been, a demigod physique, a face so defined and lean, 6'2, and a charm unlike any other, he is so perfect to the point where even his terrible accent wouldn't ruined it. No wonder he is one of the greatest action hero star actor there has ever been. Such a shame we don't have a modern Arnold Schwarzenegger in our day and age. Can't believe that Arnold staring meme came from this. I never understood why Arnold never truly made a true spy flick. I love the action genre, in it we can see as the plot points are easily shown, who the good guys are and who the baddies are, what a good act is and what a bad or successful thing is which is usually an explosion.
