Ricky is a defiant young city kid who finds himself on the run with his cantankerous foster uncle in the wild New Zealand bush. A national manhunt ensues, and the two are forced to put aside their differences and work together to survive.

I just read the book. And I think the film is so much better! Except I think they made Rickie a bit dumb in the film and whiney. In the book he is actually quite capable and quiet. A lot is different from the book and I think the movie improved it. But if you get the chance I do recommend reading it. The book is only 113 pages or at least the kindle version is.
