Compared to The Gore the Merrier, this is the superior documentary about the making of Evil Dead II in my opinion. It was a lot more in depth and offered a wide range of interesting insights about the production of the film. I loved listening to Bruce Campbell talk about his experience working on the movie and it was very interesting to learn that Evil Dead II wasn’t even originally planned to be made. The Evil Dead from 1981 was just an entrance into the world of filmmaking for Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell, so it’s quite interesting to see how their careers progressed and how they ultimately had to create this movie to save their reputations as filmmakers. It surely paid off since this is one of the most successful and bizarre sequels ever made. I love how this doc is split into several chapters and how each section chronicles a wide variety of aspects about the making of this movie. My favorite part was definitely when they talked about how they made the stop motion animation effects. You don’t see that type of special effects in movies anymore and it’s honestly a shame. All in all, if you love Evil Dead II and want to learn more about it, then this is definitely for you!!

There is not a single piece of on set footage where Sam Raimi is not having the time of his life. Espacilly when Bruce Campbell is about to suffer for the next take they're doing.
