Unfortunately I can’t actually watch the proper telefilm edit’s of these Planet of the Apes show movies, so I’m just watching the episodes that make them up back to back. I’ll watch other episodes in between movies to the best of my ability but some of these telefilms are a very random order compared to the show’s original broadcast.
Honestly these two episodes were fine for a 1970s TV scale but I really don’t get why any show would try to pretend to be a movie by cramming two episodes together like this. I have the same issue with Young Indiana Jones. Making two episodes into one movie messes with pacing and structure to the point where it just feels unprofessional. Turns a solid TV show into a mediocre TV film and I can’t imagine watching the official edit of these two episodes together would actually be any better.
