First off, I would like to thank Louis Le Prince, the inventor of the motion picture camera, for being born so this film could be made decades later. I say this everytime I give a movie a 5 star, but this is like the best film ever made. Wasn’t expecting such a masterful dialogue on class and revolution. I wanted to die. I laughed. I cried. I screeched. EXCELLENT cinema. You guys know I love an ensemble. And yaoi too?? insane insane. I knew I was going to love this from the first scene, I do not know why, but this feeling washed over me and I just knew. Loved it so so so so much everyone add this to your watchlist and watch NOWWWW

Since I’ve been on a spree of watching Spaghetti Westerns recently, I finally decided to give it a shot. I’d heard it was an excellent film, so my expectations were high—and it delivers in every possible way.

While the characters are somewhat cartoonish, this only adds to their vibrancy, making them feel full of life and ensuring a thoroughly entertaining experience. Chuncho is an absolute joy to watch, while Niño’s enigmatic nature brings a sense of mystery and underlying tension to the story. Their relationship is the focal point of the narrative, which proves to be more thematically nuanced than it might initially appear, raising questions about the clash between personal beliefs and the corrupting forces of money and power. The film strikes a perfect balance between action, comedy, and drama, creating a well-rounded and satisfying experience.

“Don’t buy bread, buy dynamite!”Definitely representative of the Spaghetti Western genre as a whole. There is no explicit good, there isn’t no explicit bad. All characters have some moral ambiguity; from Santo who twists religious principles however he feels, to Chuncho acting for revolution, for money, and back and forth for the whole film. There is a reason Quién Sabe? was the original title for this film. All questions raised, plot-related or otherwise, can be answered with a very simple, very Italian, very Spaghetti Western “who knows?”. Despite that ambiguity tho the film is still extremely critical and well-placed with those critiques. Overall fun watch 4.25
