I WAS gonna give this 2 stars, but then that ending happened. Why would they do that? They shoulda just did a normal 40’s movie ending but no they did that

This film is apeshit and stupid, why did Bela say yes to this?

Kind of amusing in parts (the ape sidekick is fun and the killing spree is weirdly gleeful), but is usually pretty tedious. Feels pretty clumsy in its handling of it's blunt drug abuse allegory, but to say that The Ape Man handles anything deftly is a stretch. At least the final line is bizarre in a fun way.
